Answer:

Area of square = 7*7 = 49cm²

Now, we have 2 sectors of radius 7/2 cm which can be joined to form a semicircular portion of same radius, and we have at the bottom another semicircular portion of radius 7/2 cm.

So, the total area covered by all the sectors = Area of one semicircular portion + area of another semicircular portion of radius 7/2 cm

= Area of circle with radius 7/2 cm

= π (7/2)²

= 22/7 * 49/4 = 77/2 cm² = 38.5 cm²

Therefore, area of shaded portion = Total area of square - Area of unshaded portion = 49-38.5 = 10.5 cm²   Ans.
