length of rectangle = 8m+2m = 10m

breadth of rectangle = 14m +6m=20m

Area of rectangle = L×B

= 10m×20m

= 200m2

Area of shaded region = Area of rectangle - ( area of 4 triangles)

= 200 - (1/2×8×14+1/2×6×4+1/2×16×6+1/2×4×2)

= 200-(56+12+48+4)

= 200-(120)

= 80m2

Hence , the area of shaded region is 80m2.
