1-Area of bigger square=(side)sq.
=(8m)sq
=64sq.m
Area of smaller square=(side)sq
=(4m)sq =16sq.m
now,
area of shaded portion = area of bigger square - area of smaller square
64sq.m - 16sq.m
=48sq.m is the area of shaded portion

2-area of bigger rectangle=L×B
=24m×20m=480sq.m

area of smaller rectangle=L×B
=22m×18m=396sq.m

now,
area of shaded portion = area of bigger rectangle - area of smaller rectangle
480-396=84
84sq.m is the area of shaded portion.
