GIVEN :

  • Sides of a square are 14 cm.
  • Area of larger square = side².

TO FIND :

  • Area of the shaded region.

\Large\red {\sf SOLUTION \: :}

Let, Area of larger square = Side²

\implies 14²

\implies 196 cm²

There are 4 semi circle means = 2 complete circles.

So, there are to circles of diameter 2x cm.

Now,

\implies 3 + x + 2x + x + 3 = 14

\therefore \red {\boxed {\sf X = 2}}

So radius of circle will be = 2 cm

Area of the shaded region = area of circle + area of side of 4 cm.

\implies \sf 2 \pi r^{2} \: + \: side^{2}

\implies 25.12 + 16

\implies 41.12 cm²

\quad The area of the shaded region = 196 - 41.12

\therefore \red {\boxed {\sf 154.88 cm^{2}}}

•°• Area of the shaded region is = 154.88 cm².
