identification of shapes of figure
4 semi circle of radius r
square ABCD of side 14 cm
square JKLM of side 2r
from figure
AB =3+3+r+2r+r
14=6+4r
4r=14-6
r =8/2
r= 4
from figure we have ABCD square with AB = 14
4 equal semicircle with diameter JK = 4 cm
JKLM square with side = 4 cm
area of square ABCD =(AB)^2
14^2 = 196 cm^2
area of semicircle with diameter JK
πr^2/2
π×2^2/2
π×2 cm^2
area of4 semicircle =4×2×π=8π cm^2
area of JKLM square = JK^2
(4)^2=16
area of shaded region =area of square ABCD - area of 4 semicircle + area of square JKLM
196-(8π+16)=196-8π-16
180 - 8π cm^2
