According to the theorem the area of the triangle will be half of the area of square
That implies

1/2x20x20=200cm^2

And moreover the height of the triangle is same as the side of the square...

first of all
it is a square
and area of square = side square
20×20=400 cm square
and there is two triangle
ade and bce
area of triangle ade=1/2×20×10=100
area of triangle bec=1/2×20 ×10=100
area of shaded portion=
area of square - ( area of triangle ade + area of triangle bec)
400-(100+100)
400 -200=200
area of shaded portion is 200 cm square hoga
