Since angle A is 90° the side BC=5cm ( by pythagoras theorem).

Then the area of the triangle is 1/2*b*h

= 1/2*4*3

= 6cm²

BC =5cm

OC=2.5cm= radius of circle

Area of the circle = 3.14*r²

=3.14*2.5*2.5

=19.625cm²

Area of the shaded region = Area of circle - Area of the triangle

= 19.625 - 6

= 13.625cm²

Hence the area of the shaded portion is 13.625cm²
