Answer:-

Given:

  • Length of rectangle = 60cm

  • Breadth of rectangle = 40cm

  • Diameter of circle = 20cm

To Find:

  • Area of shaded region

Formula Used:

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth

  • Radius of circle = Diameter ÷ 2

  • Area of circle = πr²

Solution:

Finding area of whole figure

Area of whole figure

= Area of rectangle

= length × breadth

= 60 × 40

= 2400 cm²

∴ Area of rectangle = 2400 cm²

Finding radius of circle

Radius of circle

= Diameter ÷ 2

= 20 ÷ 2

= 10cm

∴ Radius of circle = 10cm

Finding area of circle

Area of circle

= πr²

= π × (10)²

= π × 100

= 3.14 × 100

= 314 cm²

∴ Area of circle = 314 cm²

Finding Area of shaded region

Area of shaded region

= Area of rectangle - Area of circle

= 2400 cm² - 314 cm²

= 2086 cm²

∴ Area of shaded region is 2086 cm²
