Here,

DF = FC = 12cm

CE = BE = 8cm

AB = CD = 24cm

Area of rectangle = 24×16 = 384cm²

Area of ∆ADF = 1/2 × 24 × 12 = 144cm²

Area of ∆ABE = 1/2 × 24 × 8 = 96cm²

Area of ∆CEF = 1/2 × 12 × 8 = 48cm²

Area of shaded part = 384 - (144+96+48) = 96cm²

Answer:

144cm

Step-by-step explanation:

in triangle adf given ad=16cm, df =12cm

by pythagoreus thm af =20cm

in triangle efc given fc=12cm, ec=8cm

by pythagoreus thm ef=14.4 cm

so area triangle aef is half into base into height

1÷2×14.4×20=144

so area of the shaded region is 144cm
