Given :

  • → Heights of trapezium = 18 cm
  • → Sum of parallel sides = 53 cm
  • → Radius of circle = 6 cm

To find :

  • → Area of shaded region

Formula used here :

Area of Trapezium :-

  • → 1/2( sum of parallel ) × height

Area of circle :-

  • → πr²

Understanding the concept :

For calculating the area of shaded region we have to apply to formulas. First area of trapezium and area of circle. We have to just subtract area of trapezium from area of circle.

According to Question :

→ 1/2( sum of parallel ) × heights - πr²

→ 1/2 ( 18 + 35 ) ×18 - 3.14 × (6) ²

→ 9 × 53 - 3.14 × 36

→ 363.96 cm² [ Area of Shaded Region ]

Area of Trapezium

  • 0.5 × (18 + 35) × 18
  • 9 × 53
  • 477 cm²

Area of Circle

  • πr²
  • 3.14 × 6 × 6
  • 113.04

Area of Shaded Part

  • 477 cm² - 113.04 cm²

363.96 cm²
