find the area of shaded region in the given figure with their radii of two concentric circle with Centre O are 7 cm and 14 cm respectively and angle aob equals to 40 degree and equals to 14 cm

see first of all find area of ABDC by subtracting ar.of COD from ar of AOB
then
area of shaded reg.= ar.of big circle + ar.of small circle - area of ABCD.

Area of the shaded region = Area of bigger sector - Area of smaller sector
=  \frac{theta}{360}* \pi *[ 14^{2}  ] -  \frac{theta}{360}* \pi *[ 7^{2}  ]
= theta / 360 * 22/7 * [ 196 - 49 ]
= 40 / 360 * 22/7 * 147
= 1/9 * 22/7 * 147
= 1/9 * 22 * 21
= 1/3 * 22 * 7
= 154 * 1/3
= 51.33 sq.cm
