whose fours sides are 14cm
area of the square= side×side
= 14 × 14=196 cm²
ALS and PLT two semicircle.
diameter of the semicircle= side of the square=14cm.
radius = d/2 14/2=7cm.
area of 2 semicircle = 2(1/2πr²)= 2(1/2×22/7×7×7)=2×77=154cm².
Therefore,
area of shaded region= area of square- area of two semicircle=196-154=42cm².
