See first you have to find the area of square = 28cm*28cm = 784 cm^2

Radius is 14 cm of both the circles
You can see that 1/4th are of of circle lies both in square and circle as we have take out the are of whole square therefore we will take out the are of 3/4th of cirlce

3/4*22/7*14*14 = 462 cm^2
There are 2 circles = 462*2 = 924cm^2
Total are of shaded region = (784+924) cm^2 = 1708 cm^2 is the answer
