We know that the area of any squared shape body is the square of its side, mathematically area of square is side^2 or side x side.

In the given question, side of the square is 100 cm.

∴ Area of the given square = side x side

⇒  Area of the given square = 100 cm x 100 cm

⇒ Area of the given square = 100 x 100 x cm x cm

⇒ Area of the given square = 10000 cm^2

Therefore the area of the square is 10000 cm^2 when side is 100 cm.
