The answer is a follows

The formula for the diagonal of the square is=

 \sqrt{2} a

So

 \sqrt{2} a = 24 \\ \\ a = \frac{24}{ \sqrt{2} } \\ \\ a = \frac{2 \times 12}{ \sqrt{2} } \\ \\ a = 12 \sqrt{2} \\ \\ so \: side \: of \: square = 12 \sqrt{2} m \\ \\ so \\ \\ area = {a}^{2} \\ \\ area = (12 \sqrt{2} ) {}^{2} \\ \\ = > 288m {}^{2}
