perimeter of square=40m

digonal of square=16m

let AB=BC=X

in ∆ABC angle ABC=90°

by Pythagoras theorem

AB^2=BC^2+AB^2

16^2=x^2+x^2

256=2x^2

256/2=x^2

128=x^2

x=√128

x=8√2

side of square is 8√2

area of square=side^2

=[8√2]^2

=128 sq m
