Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of rectangle=2x(l+b)

                                    =2(18+8)

                                    =52

ATQ-perimeter of rectangle=perimeter of square

             so, 52= 4xside

              so,52/4=side of square

                   13=side of square

now we can find area of square i.e.  sidexside

                                                           =13x13=169

so,169 is the area of that square

Answer :

169 cm²

Solution :

Here ,

The given length and breadth of rectangle are 18 cm and 8 cm respectively .

Now ,

The perimeter of the rectangle will be given as ;

=> P = 2(L + B)

=> P = 2(18 + 8)

=> P = 2×26

=> P = 52

According to the question , a square has the same perimeter as the rectangle .

=> P = 52

=> 4•Side = 52

=> Side = 52/4

=> Side = 13

Now ,

The area of the square will be ;

=> A = Side²

=> A = 13²

=> A = 169

Hence ,

The area of the square is 169 cm² .
