Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

I condition :

Area of parallelogram = base * corresponding altitude

                                      = LM * MP

                                         =20 * 8 =160 cm²-------(1) eq

II condition :

Area of parallelogram = base * corresponding altitude

                                     = MN *QO

                                      =10*x ------(2) eq

10x  =160

x = 16 cm

Topic :-

Area

To Find :-

i) Area of parallelogram and

ii) Value of x.

Formula :-

Area of parallelogram = Base × Height

Solution :-

In the given figure,

  • Base = 20 cm

  • Height = 8 cm

Applying formula of area,

Area of parallelogram = 20 cm × 8 cm

Area of parallelogram = 160 cm²

Area of parallelogram will be same, if we take base as 10 cm.

Now taking,

  • Base = 10 cm

  • Height = x cm

Area of parallelogram = Base × Height

160 cm² = 10 cm × x cm

160 cm² = 10x cm²

160/10 = x

x = 16

Answer

So, area of given parallelogram is 160 cm² and value of x is 16.
