Area of circle = πr²

(i) r = 4.2 m

=> Area = πr²

= 22/7 × 4.2 × 4.2 m²

= 22/7 × 42/10 × 42/10

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  =  \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{42}{10}  \times  \frac{42}{10}

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = \frac{11 \times 6 \times 21}{5 \times 5}

  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = \frac{1386}{25}

= 55.44 m²

(ii) d = 42

r = 42/2

Area = πr²

 \frac{22}{7}  \times  \frac{42}{2} \times  \frac{42}{2}  \\

\frac{11 \times 6 \times 21}{1}

1386 m²
