Answer:

270

Step-by-step explanation:

Note :

Area of rectangle = I * b

Area of square = a^2

Roads are in the form of rectangle

Area of the road ( north to south )

length = 62 m

breadth = 2m

Area = 62 * 2

Area = 124 sq m

Area of road ( east to west )

lenght = 2 m

breadth = 75 m

Area = 2 * 75

Area = 150 sq m

Area of the square (it form square in the centre)

square has equal sides

side = 2m

Area = 2^2

Area = 4 sq m

Total area of roads

area of road 1 + area of road 2 - area of square in centre

=> 124 + 150 - 4

=> 270

Note :

The area of square in the centre has been taken into consideration in both the roads area. Due to this the area of square has been added twice to the total area hence to reduce this effect the area of road has been deducted from the total at the end.
