Step-by-step explanation:

To find the area of the figure first we will find the area of triangle, then area of semi circle and then we will add both of their areas to get area of whole figure.

First consider triangle ( refer to attachment no. 1 )

Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

So to find area of triangle we require base and height.

The radius in the figure is the base of triangle, the length is the hypontenuse, whereas height is the perpendicular. Now to find height of the triangle we will use Pythagoras theorem.

By using Pythagoras theorem,

H² = P² + B²

( Here H - hypontenuse, P - perpendicular, B - Base )

☛ 10² = h² + r²

☛ 10² = h² + 6²

☛ 100 = h² + 36

☛ h² = 100 - 36

☛ h² = 64

☛ h = √64

☛ h = 8 m

Now, we have found out the height.

Put value in the formula.

Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

  • Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height

  • Area of triangle = 1/2 × 6 × 8

  • Area of triangle = 6 × 4

  • Area of triangle = 24

Now, lets consider the semi circle ( refer the attachment no.2 )

Area of semi circle = 1/2 ( πr² )

We already know that r = 6 m and value of π = 22/7

Put the values in formula.

Area of semi circle = 1/2 ( πr² )

  • Area of semi circle = 1/2 × 22/7 × 6²

  • Area of semi circle = 1/2 × 22/7 × 6 × 6

  • Area of semi circle = 1/2 × 22/7 × 36

  • Area of semi circle = 22/7 × 18

  • Area of semi circle = 396/7

  • Area of semi circle = 56.571

  • Area of semi circle ≈ 56.571

Now, we will add both the area ( area of triangle and area of semi circle ) to get area of entire figure.

Area of figure = Area of triangle + Area of semi circle

Put the values in,

  • Area of figure = ( 24 + 56.571 ) m²

  • Area of figure = 80.571 m²

Area of figure 80.571
