1st. Area of trapezium ABEG = 1/2 × sum of // side × height
AG = BE - GF = 8 - 3 = 5 cm
Now, Area = 1/2 × ( 8 + 5 ) × 2
= 1/2 × 13 × 2
= 13 cm sq. ..
2nd. Area of rectangle BCDE = length × breadth
= 2 × 8 = 16 cm sq.
3rd. Area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h
1/2 × 3 × 2 = 3 cm sq.
Hence , add eq. 1,2 and 3 , we get
= 13 + 16 +3 = 32 cm sq.
