find the area of the figure below using heron's formula, giving the answer to three decimal places. ​

Answer:

s=a+b+c/2

=20+23+16/2

=59/2

Area of first =

=

 \sqrt{s {s - a} {s - b} {s - c} }

= 59/2(59/2-20) (59/2-23) (59/2-16)

=75856.668

in second ,

(hyp)²=b²+h²

(20)²=b²+(16)²

400=b²+256

b²=400-256

b²=144

b=12cm

Area of triangle =½×b×h

=½×12×16

=96cm²

area of figure =area of 1st triangle + area of second triangle

=75856.668+96

=75760.668
