As you can see figure is divided in three shapes

i) Area of first Triangle

Base = 8 cm

Height = 11-6 = 5/2 = 2.5 cm

Area = Base × Height × 1/2

        = 8 × 2.5 × 1/2

        = 10 cm sq

ii) Area of middle rectangle

Length = 8 cm

Breadth = 6 cm

Area = Length × Breadth

        = 8 × 6

       = 48 cm sq

iii) Area of Second Triangle

It would be same so area would be as it was of first triangle which was 10 cm

iv) Area of Figure

= Area of triangles + Area of rectangle

= 10 + 10 + 48

= 68 cm sq
