Here in the question first we will divide the entire figure into three rectangles. Then we will find the area of those three rectangles and after that we will add them up.
Consider first rectange ( refer the attachment no.1 )
Length of rectangle = 8 cm
For finding the width of rectangle, we will add width's of all the rectangles i.e., [ written in blue ] ( 2 + 2 + 2 ) i.e., width/breath of other rectangles as well.
Breath of rectangle = 2 + 2 + 2
Breath of rectangle = 2 + 4
Breath of rectangle = 6 cm
Area of rectangle = l × b
Area of rectangle ( A₁ ) = ( 8 × 6 ) cm²
Area of rectangle ( A₁ ) = 48 cm²
Consider second rectange ( refer the attachment no.1 )
Length of rectangle = 3 cm
For finding the width of rectangle, we will add width's of 2nd and 3rd rectangles ( 2 + 2 ) i.e., width/breath of other rectangles as well.
Breath of rectangle = 2 + 2
Breath of rectangle = 4 cm
Area of rectangle = l × b
Area of rectangle ( A₂ ) = ( 3 × 4 ) cm²
Area of rectangle ( A₂ ) = 12 cm²
Now, consider third rectangle.
Length of rectangle = 3 cm
Width of rectangle = 2 cm
Area of rectangle = l × b
Area of rectangle ( A₃ ) = ( 3 × 2 ) cm²
Area of rectangle ( A₃ ) = 6 cm²
Now, add the areas of all the rectangles to find the area of entire figure.
⇛ Area of figure = A₁ + A₂ + A₃
⇛ Area of figure = ( 48 + 12 + 6 ) cm²
⇛Area of figure = 66 cm²
∴ Area of figure = 66 cm²
