Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

area of rectangle AFEB =3*8

                       = 24 cm^2

area of trapezium  BECD= 1/2 * 3* (12+3)

                        = 1/2 * 3* 15

                       = 22.5 cm^2

area of polygon = area of rectangle AFEB +area of trapezium  BECD

                           = 24+22.5

                           = 46.5 cm^2

hope this helps

Answer:

46.5 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Join BE.Then the polygon will be divided into Rectangle ABEF and Trapezium BCDE.

From the Rectangle :-

l = 8 cm , b = 3 cm

From the Trapezium :-

a = 3cm , b = 12 cm , h = 11 - 8 = 3cm

So,

The area of the polygon = lb + 1/2×(a+b)×h

= 8×3 + 1/2(3+12)×3

= 24 + 45/2

= 93/2

= 46.5 cm^2
