Given:  Base radius is 7 cm and height is 24 cm.

To find: The area of the iron sheet required to prepare a cone

Solution:

  • Now we have given base radius is 7 cm and height is 24 cm.
  • Slant height will be:

              l = √(r² + h²)

              l = √(7² + 24²)

              l = √(49 + 576)

              l = √625

              l = 25 cm

  • Now :
  • Area of iron sheet = TSA of cone

              Area of iron sheet = πrl + πr²

                                             = πr(l + r)

                                             = 22/7 x 7 (25 + 7)

                                             = 22 x 32

              Area of iron sheet = 704 cm²

Answer:

          The area of the iron sheet required to prepare a cone is 704 cm².
