Answer:

LSA, 1100 cm/square

TSA, 1408cm/square

Step-by-step explanation:

LSA of the cylinder 2πrh

=2×22/7×7×25 = 1100

TSA of the cylinder

2πr(h+r)

2×22/7×7 (25+7) = 1408

Given:

A cylinder whose :

radius, r = 7cm

height, h = 25cm

To find:

(i) Lateral Surface Area

(ii) Total Surface Area

Solution:

(i) Lateral Surface area

Formula for Lateral Surface area of Cylinder = 2πrh

Putting the values,

 \therefore  \rm \: 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7 \times 25 \\   \rm \implies 2 \times 22 \times 25 \\   \rm  \implies  \bf \red{1100cm^{2}}

Lateral surface area =  \rm \bf 1100cm^2

 \\

(ii) Total Surface Area

Formula for Total surface area of Cylinder = r(h+r)

Putting the values,

 \therefore  \:  \rm 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7(25 + 7) \\  \rm \implies \: 2 \times 22 \times 32 \\   \implies \rm  \:  \bf  \red{1408cm^{2} }

Total surface area =  \rm \bf 1408cm^2
