Draw a line segment DE // AB

AB // DE and AD // BE

Therefore ABED is a parallelogram

Area of ABED = 13cm x 10cm = 130 cm^2

In triangle CDE,

Area of triangle (by Heron's formula):

 \sqrt{s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)}

 \sqrt{21 \times 8 \times 7 \times  6}

84 \: cm {}^{2}

Area of trapezium = 130 + 84 = 214 cm^2
