Area of quardilaterals=area of EDCA+ΔABC

=1/2*sum of parallel lines *height +1/2*base*height

=1/2*8+12*2+1/2*12*4

=1/2*20*2+1/2*48

=1/2(40+48)

=1/2*88

=44 cm²
