Here length and breadth of the rectangle are given

Length = 7.2m

Breadth = 80 cm

  • We will first convert breadth into meters.

80 cm = 80 × 10⁻² m

           =0.8 m

  • We have to find out area of rectangle.

To determine the area we will use the formula

area = l × b

Putting the values in the formula

area = 7.2 × 0.8

        =5.76

The area of the rectangle will be 5.76 m²

  • As per the given data in the question, we have to find the area of a rectangle having length and breadth is  7.2m and 80cm respectively.
  • Given data- Length=7.2m.

                            Breadth=80cm.

        To find- the area of rectangle.

  • Step 1- We have to become the same unit of both length and breadth.
  • We know that, 1m=100cm.
  • Step 2- So we have to convert 7.2m into cm. for converting m into cm. we multiply 7.2 by 100. we will get it,

        =7.2\times100=720cm.

  • As we know the area of the rectangle is,

        Area of rectangle=length\times breadth.

  • Step 3- We apply the area formula, we will get it,

        =720\times 80=57600cm^{2}.
