area of regular hexagon =((3√3 ) side^2)/2
side is 5cm
=( 3√3*5^2)/2
=(3*1.73*25)/2
=129.75/2
=64.875 cm^2

Answer:

64 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

dividing the hexagon into

  1. 2 triangles

    2. a rectangle

ΔMNO and ΔPQR are congruent triangles with altitude as 3 cm

area of triangle MNO = 1/2 × 8 × 3 = 12 cm²

area of triangle PQR = 1/2 × 8 × 3 = 12 cm²

area of rectangle MOPR = l × b

                                        = 8 × 5

                                        = 40 cm²

Area of hexagon MNOPQR = area of both Δ + area of rectangle

                                              = 12 + 12 + 40

                                              = 24 + 40

                                              = 64 cm²     (ans)
