Area of right angle triangle

 =  \frac{1}{4}  \times   \: {hypotenuse}^{2}\times\: \sin(2\alpha )

 =  \frac{1}{4}    \times \: {7}^{2}\times\: \sin(22.5 \degree )

  = \frac{1}{4}  \times 49 \times  \sin \: 45 \degree

 =  \frac{49}{4} \sqrt{2}

 = 8.66 \:  {cm}^{2}
