A sector is defined as the portion of a circle enclosed by an arc and 2 radii.

Area of a circle = πr²

Area of a sector = Ф x πr²/360

Now given ,

r = 5 inch

Ф = 60 °

Hence area of the sector

= 60 x π x 5²/360

= 25π/6

= 13.0833

= 13.09 inch²

Find the area of the circle:

Area = πr²

Area =  π(5)² = 25π in²

Find the area of the sector:

Area of the sector = θ/360 x area

Area of the sector = 60/360 x 25π

Area of the sector = 13.1 in² (nearest tenth)

Answer: Area of the sector is 13.1 in²
