By Pythagoras theorem, PQ² + PR² = QR²

                                         12² + 5² = QR²

                                           √169   = QR

                                              QR = 13 cm

Now, radius of the circle,(OQ) = QR/2 = 13/2 = 6.5 cm

Area of ΔPRQ = 1/2 x base x height = 1/2 x 12 x 5 =30 sq. cm

Area of semi- circle = πr²/2 = 22/7 x 6.5 .6.5 x 1/2=  66.39 sq. cm

Area of the shaded portion = Area of the semi-circle - area of the triangle

                                              = 66.39 - 30

                                              = 36.39 sq. cm
