now radius of quadrant is half of side thus r
radius is 6 cm
now area of shaded region = area of square - area of 4 quad..
= s² - πr²
= 12² - 3.14×6×6
= 144 - 113.04= 30.96
hence the are of shaded region is 30.96 cm ²
