then,

→ Shaded area = πr² - (r)² - 4 * [π(r/2)²]/2

→ Shaded area = π(2)² - (2)² - 4 * π(1)²/2

→ Shaded area = 4π - 4 - 2π

→ Shaded area = 2π - 4

→ Shaded area = 2(π - 2) (Ans.)
