Find the area of the shaded part, if the side of the square is 8 cm and the circumference of circle is 44 cm

Answer:

side of square(a) = 8cm

area of square = a∧2 = 8∧2 = 8×8 = 64cm∧2

circumference of circle = 2πr = 44cm

2πr = 44

2 × 22/7 × r = 44

2 × r = 44×7/22

2r = 14

r = 14/2 = 7cm

area of circle = πr∧2 = 22/7 × 7×7 = 154cm∧2

Area of shaded region = area of circle - area of square

                                     = 154 - 64 = 90cm∧2

AREA = 90cm∧2
