Answer:

1890 sq.cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of shaded portion is area of rectangle ABCD - area of rectangle PQRS

Area of ABCD = length x breadth         where L = 62 cm , b = 45 cm

                       = 62 cm x 45 cm

                       = 2790 sq.cm

Area of PQRS = L x b                            where L = 36 cm , b = 25 cm

                     = 36cm x 25 cm

                     = 900 sq.cm

Area of shaded portion = 2790 sq.cm - 900 sq.cm

                                    = 1890 sq.cm

Length of outer rectangle (L) = 62 cm

Breadth of outer rectangle (B) = 45 cm

Area of outer rectangle = L×B

Area = 62×45

Area = 2790 cm²

Length of inner rectangle (l) = 36 cm

Breadth of inner rectangle (b) = 25 cm

Area of inner rectangle = l×b

Area = 36×25

Area = 900 cm²

Area of shaded region = Area of outer rectangle - Area of inner rectangle

Area of shaded region = 2790-900

Area of shaded region = 1890 cm²
