Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the vertical rectangle ( Let it A)= 5×40 m²

Area of the horizontal rectangle ( Let it B)= 1.5×50 m²

Area of the central rectangle formed from above 2 rectangles (Let it C)= 1.5 × 5 m²

Net Area = A+B-C

= 200 + 75 - 7.5 m²

= 267.5m²

Note we subtracted C as it in A+B it was taken twice
