Area of the entire rectangle = Length × Breadth

Given length = 10cm

Breadth = 14cm

So area of entire figure = 10 × 14 = 140cm²

Now we know that area of circle = πr²

Since semicircle is half of a circle, its area = πr²/2

Now if you closely see, the diameter of the semicircle is 14m

So radius = 14/2 = 7cm

So area = (πr²)÷2

=> area = (22/7 × 7²) ÷ 2

=> area = (22/7 × 49) ÷ 2

=> area = 154 ÷ 2

=> area = 77 cm²

Now area of shaded portion = entire area - area of semicircle

=> 140 - 77

=> 63cm²
