area \: of \:the \: rectangle = 14 \times 10 \\  = 140 {cm}^{2}  \\radius \: of \: the \: semicircle = 14 \div 2 \\  = 7cm \\ area \: of \: semcircle \:  = \pi {r}^{2}  \div 2 \\  = ((22 \div 7) \times 7 \times 7) \div 2 \\  = 154 \div 2 \\  = 77 {cm}^{2}  \\ area \: of \: shaded \: region = 140 - 77 = 63 {cm}^{2}
answer is 63 (cm)square
