Answer:

area of triangle =1/2×base×height

area of top left triangle =1/2×14×8=56 --p

area of bottom left triangle =1/2×2×4=4 --q

area of top right triangle =1/2×6×4 =12 --r

area of bottom right = 1/2×16×6=48 ---s

area of rectangle =10×20=200 --A

area of shaded portion = A-(p+q+r+s)

=200-(56+4+12+48)=200-120

=80

The area of shaded region is 80 CM

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's take the shaded portion as ABCD

And

Rectangle as LMNO

GIVEN

LA = 8 CM

LD = 14 CM

MA = 2 CM

MB = 4 CM

NB = 16 CM

NC = 6 CM

OC = 4CM

OD = 6 CM

To Find

The area of shaded potion

___________________________

We know that,

Area of triangle = Base × Height

Area of triangle = 20×10

Area of triangle = 200

Area of triangle = 200 CM

___________________________

Now

Let's find the Area of Triangle

We know that,

Area of triangle =½ × base × height

∆1 = ½ × 14 × 8

∆1 = 56

∆1 = 56 CM

∆2 = ½ × 6 × 4

∆2 = 12

∆2 = 12 cm

∆3 = ½ × 6 × 16

∆3 = 48

∆3 = 48 Cm

∆4 = ½ × 4 × 2

∆4 = 4

∆4 = 4 CM

Now

Let's sum all triangles

= 56+4+48+12

= 120

= 120 CM

Now,

To find the area of shaded region

Substrate sum of triangles from Area of Rectangle

= 200-120

= 80

= 80 CM

The area of shaded region is 80 CM
