Area of shaded portion = Area of square + Area of semicircle .

Area of square

—» ( side )²

—» ( 7 )²

—» 49 cm².

Area of circle

Side of square equal to diameter of semicircle

Area of semicircle = πr² / 2

—» 22/7 × 7/2 × 7/2 × 1/2
