since AC is the diameter of the circle

area of semicircle = 22/7 × 2root2^2

= 22/7 × 8

= 176 /7

area of triangle = 1/2 × 4 ×4

= 8 cm^2

area of shaded region = 176/7 - 8

= 176-56/7

= 120/7

= 17.14 cm^2
