Make a diagonal.
Side of square = 7cm which is radius of sector.
Area of sector = 90/360 × 22/7 × 7 × 7
= 77/2
Area of triangle = 1/2 × base × height
= 1/2 ×7×7
= 49/2
Area of shaded region = 2 × (Area of sector - Area of triangle)
= 2 (77/2-49/2)
= 2 (28/2)
= 28
