both are rectangular in shape

area of rectangle=l*b

shaded portion can be founded by subtracting area of bigger rectangle-area of smaller rectangle

area of shaded portion - area of big rectangle-area of small rectangle

60*40-5*2

2400-10m^2

2390m^2

HEY DUDE STEPWISE EXPLANATION IS HERE...

IF YOU WANT TO FIND AREA OF SHADED PORTION THEN ,

FIRST YOU HAVE TO CALCULATE AREA OF OUTER RECTANGLE..

WHICH IS EQUAL TO =

l \times b

=

40 \times 60

=

2400 {m}^{2}

NOW FIND AREA OF INNER RECTANGLE..

WHICH IS EQUAL TO=

l \times b

=

5 \times 2

=

10 {m}^{2}

NOW AREA OF SHADED PORTION IS EQUAL TO =

(AREA OF OUTER RECTANGLE) - ( AREA OF INNER RECTANGLE )

= (2400 - 10)m²

=

2390 {m}^{2}

HOPE IT HELPS...
