Area of shaded region = area of square + 3×(area of circle)

For square :-

side of square = 4 cm

For circle :-

Radius = 1 cm

Area of shaded region = (side)² + 3 (πr²)

= (4)² + 3[22/7 × (1)²]

= 16 + 3 (22/7)

= 16 + 66/7

= 112 - 66/7

= 46/7 cm²

= 6.57 cm²
