Hi!!

Answer:

26units

Step-by-step explanation:

In triangle ABC, by Pythagoras theorem

AC^{2} + AB^{2}  = BC^{2}

15^{2} + 8^{2} = BC^{2} \\BC^{2} = 225=64\\BC=\sqrt{289} \\BC= 17

Now,

Area of triangle = 1/1 * base * height

Area of triangle ABC= 1/2*AC*AB

                                  = 1/2*15*8

                                  = 60units

Area of triangle which is not shaded = 1/2*17*4

                                                             = 34

Now,

Area of shaded portion = Area of ABC - area of triangle unshaded

                                       = 26units
