Step-by-step explanation:

In ΔAED, angle DEA= 90°

So, by PGT,

AD2 = AE2 + ED2

AD2 = (8)2 + (10)2

AD2 = 64 + 100

AD2 = 164

AD = √164

AREA OF TRAINGLE AED = 1/2 x Base x Height

1/2 x AE x DE

1/2 x 8 x 10

1 x 8 x 5

40cm

AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM ABCD = B x H

= 32 x 10

= 320cm

Therefore,

AREA OF SHADED REGION = AREA OF PARALLELOGRAM ABCD - AREA OF ΔAED

= 320 - 40

= 280cm
